A 3-way pass for Parisians

Day 3 of the championship and 3rd victory for Paris Basketball players with a historic 112-71 scoreline against MSB in the ever-buoyant Halle Georges Carpentier. A more than successful first test for the Parisians in this Betclic Elite.

A historic victory

For this 3rd day of the championship, the Parisians coached by Tuomas Iisalo welcomed Le Mans Sarthe Basket to Carpentier: an ambitious young team who had just won their previous game against Blois (110-96). The MSB came out to spoil the party, but couldn’t resist the Parisians’ onslaught with a 75% 2-point success rate, and found themselves helpless in the face of a very strong defense, with Le Mans losing 22 balls.

From the start of the 1st quarter, the Parisians were able to impose their game and quickly pulled away. The rest of the game seemed to be a formality for Paris Basketball, who finished with a record 41-point lead. T.J.Shorts was in exceptional form tonight, scoring 25 points in 21 minutes. When asked about his team-mates’ performances, pivot Michael Kessens emphasized the hard work carried out by the entire squad, which has paid off in the early part of the season.

Carpentier an impregnable fortress ?

With the season off to a flying start, one wonders what the miracle recipe is for the Parisians at Carpentier. Undefeated on their home floor since 28/03, Paris Basketball are enjoying a string of victories at home and limitless support from their loyal fans. A record attendance for these latest games in the 13th arrondissement of Paris shows the love of Parisians for basketball in the capital.

What’s next?

Now tied on points with Monaco, Paris Basketball will have to hold on to its Betclic Elite lead, away to CSP Limoges on 09/30, before beginning its European adventure in the Eurocup on 03/10 against BC Wolves in a red-hot Halle Carpentier.

An ambition that is becoming more and more apparent, and a season that bodes well for the 2023-2024 season.
