The verdict is in ! Paris Basketball will face SIG in the LNB quarter-finals following Strasbourg’s 102-81 victory over Chalon on Saturday evening in the final play-in match.
Having secured first place in the league on the final day, Paris Basketball had to wait for the result of the third play-in match to find out who their opponents would be in the first round of the play-offs. That match pitted Strasbourg against Chalon.
It was a high-flying duel dictated by Élan Sportif’s flying start. At home, however, SIG soon found their rhythm, spurred on by an impressive Nelly Joseph. Trailing 26-22, the visitors started the second quarter stronger than their opponents. Just one point now separated the two teams (31-30). The Davis-Keene duo took charge of reviving Strasbourg with a flurry of three-pointers, resulting in a solid 54-41 lead at half-time. But once again, the home side were undone by their lack of discipline. Already a hindrance at the end of the first half, this major foul problem presented a significant opportunity that Chalon seized to go from -16 to +2 as the game entered its final stages (70-72). Whilst the long-range shooting had clearly shifted in the other team’s favour, the Alsatians used their physicality to punish their opponents in the paint. It proved too much for Elric Delord’s men, who conceded defeat following a one-sided final stretch (102-81).

Our Parisian side will therefore host Strasbourg on Tuesday 26 May at 9.00 pm before travelling to the Rhénus on Thursday 28. In the event of a tie, the adidas arena will host Game 3 of these quarter-finals on Saturday 30 May.
