The story of a historic season

Season after season, Paris Basketball’s youth team continues to climb the league table. Here is the story of a historic 2025–2026 campaign.

Having finished 11th in the Elite U21 league last year, Paris went into this new season determined to be a credible contender for the Trophée du Future. This new status was confirmed during our early stages in the competition. With just two defeats in seven matches, the young Parisians, led by a Malik Rouamba in fine form at both ends of the court, racked up a string of victories, such as those against Monaco (86-65) and Chalon (88-65). This superb run has been rewarded with a place in the league’s top five, as well as a match at the adidas Arena.

Despite a somewhat mixed end to the year, our team remains in the qualifying places for the Trophée du Future. Even in the midst of this slump, Paris Basketball thrashed Saint-Quentin (112–58) and, in doing so, set a new record for points scored in a single match.

After the storm comes the calm! From January to the end of February 2026, Julien Mahé’s side enjoyed their best run of form, racking up no fewer than seven consecutive wins. All this was crowned by standout individual performances, such as Marko Aleksic’s 26 points against Nancy (89-71) and Sheyne Koudou’s 13 rebounds at Le Portel (87-80). This run consolidated our position in the table.

As they enter the final stretch, our U20s have been in inconsistent form. They won the Parisian derby (80–71) before beating Chalon (94–77). However, at the same time, they narrowly lost the return fixture at Nanterre (69-73) before suffering narrow defeats in Strasbourg (80-92) and Monaco (80-90). In the end, Paris finished the season with a magnificent performance against ASVEL at the adidas arena (91-80), securing a fine 8th place in the regular season.

Mission accomplished: for the third consecutive year, Paris Basketball has improved its final result in the Espoirs ÉLITE.

Well done once again to Dario, Dimitri, Kevan, Malik, Ilian, Enilce, Melvine, Mamadou, Marko, Sheyne, Themis, Myles, Joiedy, Olatunji, Samuel, Melvyn, Keelyan, Riguene, Matteo, coach Julien Mahé, and the entire technical and medical staff.

See you next season !
