Salimata Koita, a major reinforcement

Having played in the EuroCup just a few months ago, centre Salimata Koita (aged 24 – 1.86 or 90m) will be playing for Paris Basketball during the 2026–2027 season.

The Parisian native learnt the basics of basketball at BAC Vincennes, just like her future team-mate Lhiva Dahmani. Blessed with exceptional physical attributes, Salimata caught the eye of Saint-Amand. As well as playing for the youth academy, the centre trained regularly with the professional team and even made her debut in the top flight of French basketball.

Salimata subsequently played for clubs across France. A rotation player in the French second division for Chartres, she then moved on to Geispolsheim, Annemasse and Roanne in the National league. In the 2022–2023 season, she played another campaign in the LBWL’s feeder league with Calais. Although her form was on the up, the centre’s progress came to a sudden halt in early 2025 due to physical setbacks.

Salimata then decided to relaunch her career outside France, specifically in Kosovo. Playing for KBF Peja 03, she returned to the highest level before making her debut in the EuroCup (C2). A magnificent comeback, capped off by her latest high-profile adventure in Portugal with Clube Galitos Aveiro.

Back in France, Salimata is determined to continue dominating the paint in the capital. Alongside players such as Eloïse Amilien and Hermine Ngueko, the Parisian frontcourt looks set for the NF1 battles !

Welcome to the club, Salimata.
