Rising star Kiara Leno signs for Paris

The Paris Basketball women’s team has strengthened its backcourt with the signing of promising 19-year-old Kiara Leno (1.74m) from Stade Français (NF1).

It was by chance that the Guadeloupe native discovered the world of basketball. Whilst trying to imitate her older sister Shayna, Kiara discovered she had a natural talent not only for dribbling but also for shooting. Although 7,000 km separate her from mainland France, this rough diamond did not go unnoticed at the national training centre. At just 13 years old, she set off for mainland France !

Passionate about basketball, the shooting guard progressed through the youth ranks. Her performances earned her a place in the French U16 team, where she notably helped win Eurobasket 2023 by scoring 12 points and making 4 assists in the final against Spain. At the pinnacle of European basketball, Kiara unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury that kept her off the court for nearly two seasons.

After spells at the Pôle France and then with the Flammes Carolo, our new Parisian is making a comeback in the colours of Stade Français. Having made a superb return to action throughout the 2025–2026 season, the dynamic shooter now aims to reach the very top of French basketball with Paris Basketball.

Her story is a testament to her strength of character and extraordinary resilience, combined with immense talent. At just 19 years of age, Kiara is only at the beginning of her journey, which we hope will be marked by trophies in the heart of the capital !

Welcome to Paris, Kiara
