Marie Legrand, made for Paris

Guard Marie Legrand (aged 26, 1.67m), who faced Paris Basketball this season whilst playing for Chesnay-Versailles, has joined the capital’s club.

Once she had outgrown the age limit for her town’s multi-sport activities, Marie stumbled upon the world of basketball. Although she initially took up the sport simply because of the timing, the young woman from the Île-de-France region soon discovered a genuine passion for it. For nearly nine years, she developed her skills and learnt the ropes at her local club in Saint-Cloud.

As well as thoroughly enjoying herself, Marie made exceptional progress. Her almost innate agility gave her a speed of execution well above average. She went on to continue her young career in the Paris region with Stade Français. In the space of just a few seasons, the team rose from Nationale 3 to Nationale 1, culminating in the French NF2 championship title. It was a period rich in achievements, during which the point guard played a pivotal role.

For the past two seasons, Marie has been playing for Chesnay-Versailles. Set to compete in the same group as our Parisian side in 2025–2026, our new player has truly taken her game to the next level. Aggressive at both ends of the court, her all-round game – based on tough defence, transition play and drawing fouls – is perfectly in line with the Paris Basketball ethos.

Her arrival is sure to bring a new energy to our team!

Welcome to the club, Marie !
