Maozinha : “ We’re going to achieve great things ”

Following his first training session with Paris Basketball, our new centre, Maozinha, took the time to introduce himself before sharing his thoughts on the coming season.

It was at the Paris Basketball training centre, straight after a gruelling first session of the new season, that Maozinha spoke for the first time since joining the club.

“ I’d say that on the court, I’m a very energetic person, ” he said, before continuing : “ I’ll talk a lot and make a lot of noise. That might annoy some people, but for me it’s part of the game. Energy is very important to me, so I’ll try to bring a good dynamic to the team. And off the court, I’m very calm and composed. I don’t go out, except to go to a restaurant. Family means the world to me, so I spend most of my time with them. Sometimes, when I have time, I also go to church. I simply try to enjoy the present moment as much as possible. ”

Our number 45 then shared his first impressions with Paris Basketball : “ Everything is so much better than I’d imagined. The team is brilliant. The coaching staff are fantastic. They want to progress, they want to improve, they want to get results, and they’re constantly pushing us to exceed our limits. My team-mates are also very friendly. We’ve only been talking for two days, and I already feel as though they’re friends for life. ”

This desire to constantly improve is illustrated by his feelings upon discovering the EuroLeague : “ I keep using the word ‘exciting’, but that’s honestly how I feel right now. The standard of play, the organisation and everything we have at our disposal is incredible. I’m simply trying to make the most of it, work hard, put in a lot of effort, bring that energy, and I hope we’ll see the results. ”

And to round off, Maozinha wanted to share a message with you : “ I’d just like everyone to come and watch us play. I believe we’re going to achieve great things this year. We’re training hard and we’ll devote all our energy to achieving our goals. You can be sure we’ll give it our all on the pitch. So please do come and watch us. ”
