Maxime Lefèvre : “ We share the same ideas ”
Accompanied by our president David Kahn, Maxime Lefèvre spoke for the first time as head coach of Paris Basketball this Friday during his presentation.
Journalists, partners and supporters gathered in large numbers for the official introduction of our new head coach at the town hall of the 18th arrondissement.
“ It’s a big day ” said David Kahn, before continuing : “ I realised very quickly that Maxime was not only ready to become our head coach, but that he also possessed all the qualities we were looking for. He is brilliant, ambitious and isn’t afraid to try things that have never been done before. In my view, these are the defining characteristics of our club. We’re not afraid to do things that have never been done before. ”

Maxime Lefèvre then gave his opening remarks : “ Thank you to David Kahn, thank you to my family who are here, and thank you to everyone. Since I arrived three or four days ago, the people at the club have been incredibly welcoming. We’ve got straight down to work and there’s a lot to do to be ready in a few weeks’ time. ”
When asked about this, our head coach also reflected on his arrival at Paris Basketball : “ A few weeks ago, I was with the Minnesota Timberwolves preparing for next season. But when opportunities arise, you have to know how to seize them. In my career, I’ve never actively sought out the next step. So far, it’s worked out well. ”
Finally, Maxime Lefèvre spoke about his connection with the DNA of Paris Basketball : “ First of all, I think that right from the start, David Kahn and I were on the same wavelength. He could see that I knew Paris Basketball, that I was familiar with the style of play, that I knew the players, that I knew the French league, the EuroLeague… It’s a way of playing; it’s a style of play that I really like. I think that in a few years’ time, lots of teams will be playing this way. We’re just ahead of the curve. ”
