In Bourg, Paris Builds Confidence

After a nail-biting game that remained uncertain until the final moments, Paris managed to escape the Bourg trap at Ekinox (91-98). A victory that officially secures our spot in the Betclic ELITE playoffs !

With this win on JL Bourg’s court, Paris Basketball has officially punched its ticket to the post-season of the French championship—though it wasn’t easy. In the first half, both teams traded blow for blow. Pressured early on by an aggressive Bourg squad, our Parisians weathered the storm and clawed their way back into the game thanks to multiple defensive stops, drawing plenty of fouls that led to free throws and solid three-point shooting from Tyson Ward (50% accuracy) and Nadir Hifi (60%). Despite a dip in shooting efficiency during the second quarter, it was Tiago Splitter’s men who held a slim lead at halftime (20’, 48-49).

After the break, Paris struggled. Fueled by their home crowd and capitalizing on our turnovers, Bourg clawed back into the game, led by a red-hot Jordan Usher (21 points). Despite their usual three-point strength, the JL Bourg squad only managed 11/30 from deep but still built a 10-point lead. Our players didn’t panic—in fact, quite the opposite. Sometimes, the best strategy is to bend without breaking and strike at the right moment. TJ Shorts (21 points, 9 assists) understood that perfectly. Quiet until then, our point guard turned on the MVP mode. As a passer, scorer, and floor general, TJ tore through the opposing defense and helped Paris retake control. He capped off his offensive masterclass with a clutch mid-range jumper that silenced Ekinox in the final quarter.
