UPDATE FROM PARIS BASKETBALL FOLLOWING POSTPONEMENT OF FENERBAHCE MATCH
Thursday morning, Paris Basketball had only six players medically cleared to practice, leading to the postponement of last night’s match by the EuroLeague, due to a debilitating virus that has spread through almost the entire Paris Basketball team. As a reminder, three players were too sick to come to the arena for Tuesday night’s match against Real Madrid, and one tried to play but could not continue due to feeling faint.
Today, Paris Basketball practiced in three separate units to avoid the spread of further contamination, isolating those who have had the virus, or are in recovery, from the four who have not.
We are monitoring the situation around the clock.

Paris Basketball feels sad that so many fans — ours and Fenerbahce’s — could not attend last night’s match. We feel especially sad for the loyal fans from Fenerbahce who traveled from a long distance. We want to remind everybody who purchased a ticket that they will be honored when the match is rescheduled in coordination with Fenerbahce and the EuroLeague.
However, it simply was not safe to play last night for the persons in the arena who would come in contact with our players and basketball staff, including the Fenerbahce players. Moreover, it would not have been fair to the ticket-buyers to put on a match far beneath EuroLeague standards, and as contemplated by the EuroLeague by-laws that permit a match to be postponed when a team has fewer than eight players.
