Goodbye Yakuba

Mr Titre is leaving Paris Basketball. Following an impressive run in the play-offs, Yakuba Ouattara (aged 34 – 1.92m) will be playing outside the capital during the 2026–2027 season.

The three-time French champion is off to take on a new challenge! Having arrived from Monaco in the summer of 2024, ‘The Yak’ lands in Paris with the ambition to do what he’s always done: win. This defensive stalwart, capable of punishing opponents from deep, becomes a key part of Tiago Splitter’s rotation. In addition to his basketballing skills, his experience brings a great deal to the Parisian dressing room.

The result: in his very first season, he added a French Cup and a French championship to his already impressive list of honours. As a bonus, he reached the EuroLeague quarter-finals. Mission accomplished for ‘Mr Title’, whose hunger to win it all remains undiminished in 2025–2026. Although Paris Basketball ultimately fell one step short of a back-to-back title, ‘The Yak’ proved himself to be a big-game player, as reflected in his impressive play-off campaign.

Paris Basketball hopes to see you continue to perform well at your future club !

Thanks, Yak !
