Biography of Tyson Etienne
Work, work and more work. That is Tyson Etienne’s motto! Born on 17 September 1999 in Englewood, USA, the New Jersey native emerged as his team’s leader whilst still at secondary school. Alongside current Milwaukee Bucks player Cole Anthony, Tyson Etienne excelled wherever he went. Sought after by several universities across the United States, the combo guard finally signed for the Wichita State Shockers in 2019. In the heart of Kansas, he racked up game after game with over 20 points for three seasons.
A formidable offensive player, the point guard also shone for his ability to make steals. It was a remarkable spell, rewarded with a selection for the All-AAC Third Team. However, this was not enough to convince the NBA. Unselected in the 2022 Draft, Tyson Etienne began his professional career in the G-League with the College Park Skyhawks alongside a certain Jared Rhoden.
His strong performances, both as part of the team and individually, over a two-year period earned him an NBA contract in early March 2025. Off to the Brooklyn Nets! In the Big Apple, he seized his opportunity. And despite a spell with the Long Island Nets, the combo guard has just completed a 24-game NBA campaign, capped by two outstanding performances against the Bucks (23 points) and the Raptors (20 points).
