Paris wins its first-ever Supercup!

We did it ! After a shaky start to the final, our Parisian team didn’t give Roanne a chance in the second half on Sunday night (81-59). Without breaking a sweat, Paris Basketball clinched the 2026 LNB Supercup !

This final is following the same script as our semi-final! Loads of intensity, quick ball movement, good passing… but above all, solid defences. For Paris, our ultra-aggressive back line is constantly forcing the opposition’s ball-handlers wide. Apart from on the break, Roanne has no choice but to attempt extremely complex moves to avoid being intercepted. Paris Basketball are coming out on top thanks to a mix of drives to the basket and impact in the paint. Overall, shooting accuracy is on point in these first 10 minutes, as evidenced by the ELITE 2 champions’ 0/9 record from beyond the arc. Midway through this opening spell, our Parisians are calling the shots and even manage to build a small lead before TJ Parker’s side close the gap to within one possession (13-11). As the first quarter draws to a close, our point guards face ever-increasing pressure. The defenders have clearly gained the upper hand over the attack. An extremely rare occurrence: the points scored in open play could be counted on the fingers of one hand! A real trench war, in the thick of which our players were holding their own from the free-throw line. Without the ball in particular, no openings or gaps were given to the opposition. This extremely disjointed first half ultimately went in La Chorale’s favour (21-22).

Paris Basketball came out of the changing rooms with renewed determination and made their intentions clear straight away with some massive long-range shots from Daulton. Except that this time, the rest of the team followed suit! Nadir, Jared and Allan all got in on the act. Our side clearly stepped up a gear offensively, without losing their focus at the other end of the court. Steamroller mode is activated. In the blink of an eye, we pull away. Roanne try to halt this frenetic momentum with a flurry of time-outs, but to no avail. Just as our opponents start to find the basket too, Tyson Etienne shines from distance. It’s therefore impossible for La Chorale to close the gap to within 10 points. Just like yesterday against Nanterre, our Parisians made a decisive run towards victory in the third quarter (57-41). With victory within reach, the capital club didn’t falter! From beyond the arc, an MVP-calibre Tyson continued to rake in three-pointers in abundance. And inside, Momo carried on with his work, throwing in a few blocks here and there. Whenever Roanne managed to put a possession on the scoreboard, the teammates of our stalwart Terry Tarpey scored twice as many. The game was as good as over; the seconds ticked away until the final whistle (81-59).

The second winner of the LNB Super Cup is ‘Paris Basketball’ !

After a tough first half in a rare home defeat, Paris pulled out all the stops to clinch the title. The opening chapters of Maxime Lefèvre’s time at Paris Basketball will be forever etched in gold !
