Dossou-Yovo Arrives in Paris!

As announced on Mister V’s Twitch live this Friday during the Shooters League, the former Pro B MVP is reinforcing Paris Basketball’s frontcourt. With his physical presence in the paint, he will be a major asset to our roster. Welcome, Mathis!

Ahead of Sunday’s game against ASVEL, Paris Basketball is proud to announce the signing of Mathis Dossou-Yovo. A well-known center in France, where he completed his entire development in our league before heading to Germany this summer.

Playing for Oldenburg in Germany, the French big man made the most of every opportunity on the court. Despite putting up solid stats (9 points, 5.3 rebounds) in 13 games, his playing time suddenly dropped after a coaching change.

A Return to Familiar Territory

By joining our team, Mathis returns to the country where he built his career. From his time at INSEP between 2016 and 2018 to becoming an All-Star alongside Nadir Hifi last season, the number 21 already boasts impressive credentials in our league. After a long stint at Élan Chalon and two loan spells (Évreux and Blois), his career took off when he signed with Saint-Quentin.

In his first year at SQBB in the second division, Mathis dominated the courts. With an impressive stat line (16.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 54% shooting), he was logically named regular-season MVP and led his team to promotion to Betclic ELITE.

Last season, he continued to showcase his talent (12.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 53% shooting). He was even named an All-Star, playing alongside Nadir Hifi in the prestigious game.

Even with his towering height (2.04m), the former Pro B MVP possesses remarkable mobility, perfectly fitting the fast-paced playing style promoted by our coach, Tiago Splitter.

Welcome, Mathis!

Mathis Dossou-Yovo, new frontcourt player for Paris Basketball:

“I’m proud to join Paris Basketball, a club I’ve always followed closely. I can’t wait to meet the Parisian fans, give my all on the court, and secure as many victories as possible. Together, we’ll shine!”

Amara Sy, Sporting Director of Paris Basketball:

“Mathis is a highly motivated player who is continuously improving. He has shown great potential over the past two seasons with Saint-Quentin. His signing will strengthen our squad and provide Tiago with another key option in shaping the team’s strategy for different game scenarios.”

Come to the next meeting and support us!
