Ngouama, Paris Basketball’s new reinforcement

Paris Basketball, through its president David Kahn, is proud to announce the recruitment of Mehdy Ngouama.

A free agent following his departure from Spanish club Fuenlabrada, the former BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque point guard will now officially return to Betclic ELITE with the Parisian outfit.

An experienced player (aged 28), Mehdy will be available to Tuomas lisalo’s staff from Monday October 16, 2023. Already present during the summer training camp in Finland, the former Le Portel player is already familiar with the entire squad.

Symbolically, it’s also a return to his roots for the player who, as a youngster, played for the Paris club, regularly visiting the Halle Carpentier.

On Friday, the entire club welcomed the player and was delighted with his arrival. His recruitment will strengthen the squad ahead of a very busy calendar at the end of the calendar year.

STATEMENT BY MEHDY NGOUAMA, THE CLUB’S NEW PLAYER:

“I’m delighted to be joining Paris Basketball. As a little boy who once wore this jersey, I’d be very proud to see how far I’ve come.

I can’t wait to start competing alongside my new teammates, who bring Paris to life. Carpentier, I can’t wait to see you again!”.

We want to build on our excellent start to the season so that we can continue to evolve with great energy. With so many games on the calendar, we decided it was necessary to have more depth in the team for the time being. Mehdy has been training with us since pre-season, so his signing was a logical next step. He understands our team culture and adapts to our style of play. So I’m very pleased,” explained Paris Basketball coach Tuomas lisalo.

“Mehdy is a very aggressive playmaker who can contribute on both sides of the court. He’s also a born competitor and has a very good work ethic,” commented Amara Sy, sporting director of Paris Basketball.
