One of the architects of the victory over Le Mans, notably for his defensive presence, German-Swiss pivot Michael Kessens, who joined Paris Basketball this year, also spoke at the press conference:
“No recipe, unfortunately. It’s funny because over the years, we’ve always been asked for the magic recipe. There is no recipe. The recipe is work. That’s a bit of a cliché answer, but that’s really what it’s all about, the day-to-day, behind-the-scenes work that people don’t necessarily see. People don’t see 40 minutes on match day, but what we do before the preparation, the concentration, that’s really what makes us play like that on match day. It’s not easy because you need the right characters, the right personalities. Of course, there’s talent, but you also need people who want to work that way. And I think we’ve got a group that really wants to do that, both the coaches, the staff and the players.”
“I think that on a collective level, it’s going to happen very quickly, especially now when we see that the new players, when the system works. We’re really together. Everyone’s really into it, and I think once we’ve achieved the confidence of the whole collective in the system, every game for us is “We’re going to win.” It’s not “We can win.” It’s “We’re going to win. It doesn’t matter who the opponent is.”
