Paris joins forces with UNICEF to promote children’s rights
The ‘Hero of the Game’ from our match against Virtus Bologna on Wednesday also marked the signing of a joint commitment between UNICEF and Paris Basketball, which has now been awarded the ‘UNICEF-Friendly Club’ status.
Another milestone for the Paris Basketball Foundation! Through this status, the club reaffirms its commitment to working alongside UNICEF to promote children’s rights. This initiative directly reflects the role that sport can play in young people’s lives – namely, as a space to learn, meet others, express themselves and grow.
Our relationship with UNICEF is evolving in the same way. Beyond the visibility provided during this EuroLeague match, the aim is now to develop joint initiatives. And in doing so, to ensure that our sporting environment is a place where children’s rights can be defended, shared and better understood.
On 14 October, the ‘Hero of the Game’ award therefore took on a special significance. It symbolises the first step in a commitment that is set to be long-term. We are convinced that sport can help advance the cause of children.
