Mr. Title’s Quest

A legend that’s been around for several seasons persists in French basketball. The story goes like this :

” Once the playoffs begin, a player transforms into a monster. Never satisfied despite the trophies he’s amassed, he seeks, he hunts for the ultimate title. For almost three years now, no one has been able to break his destiny. ” His name ? Yakuba Ouattara !

“ You knew the Yak of the regular season, now get ready to meet the Yak of the postseason ! ” Julius Thomas warned a few days before our quarter-final against SIG. And let me tell you, our head coach wasn’t wrong !

Already at the top of his game since the start of the 2025-2026 season, our French international has clearly taken it to another level during these playoffs. His leadership—both on and off the court—is evident to all his teammates. And to top it off, he scored 18 points in Game 3 of the Semi-Finals in the heart of La Meilleraie.

His nickname, “Mr. Title,” is no accident. Yakuba Ouattara knows the path to victory, and he’s shown us that time and again !

A fourth title to cement his place in history ?

This incredible run began in the Principality. A true legend of the Roca Team, Yakuba Ouattara capped off his time on the Rock with a back-to-back championship. First in 2023 against the Mets, featuring Victor Wembanyama, and then the following year in four games against Paris Basketball.

In the summer of 2024, however, Yak traded the Monegasque sun for the Parisian spotlight. Under the guidance of Tiago Splitter, he added a French Cup to his trophy cabinet before achieving a three-peat against… Monaco! All this after a stunning comeback, culminating in a Game 5 victory.

With a fourth consecutive title, our number 24 would etch his name in the annals of French basketball. There is no doubt that Mr. Title, as well as the entire Paris Basketball team, will do everything in their power to accomplish this quest.
