Player of the Day : Sports with a Twist

Hero of the Game continues into the play-offs ! And to mark our first quarter-final match, the Paris Foundation welcomed the Maia Autisme charity.

For over twenty years, Maia Autisme has been supporting children, teenagers and young adults with autism spectrum disorders. To meet their specific needs, the charity has developed an educational, social and… sporting approach!

At Maia, sport plays a central role. Beyond physical activity, it is seen as a tool for learning, socialising and personal development. The organisation develops tailored sports programmes, based on the belief that everyone should have access to the same experiences, the same emotions and the same communal spaces.

This commitment is also reflected in the work carried out in the sensory rooms. These are sensory spaces set up within sports facilities to enable neurodivergent people to experience events in a more suitable and safe environment. These facilities help reduce sensory overload caused by noise, light or crowds. Participants can therefore take part in experiences that are usually off-limits to them, such as major sporting events.

A sporting event can also be approached in a different way, and their presence at this event reminded us of that once again.

Come to the next meeting and support us!
