Paris Falls in Belgrade

After a tough game, our players couldn’t find their way back to victory on the court of Red Star Belgrade (69-85). The focus is already on hosting Bourg this Sunday (7 PM) at the Accor Arena.

Things started off well with 9 consecutive points from November’s MVP, T.J. Shorts. Kevarrius Hayes made his presence felt with powerful dunks and solid defense, putting us comfortably ahead at the end of the first quarter (25-15).

Coming off the bench, Nadir Hifi and Maodo Lô took charge of the scoring from beyond the arc. But despite the relentless energy of Tiago Splitter’s squad, Red Star’s players, buoyed by their home crowd, managed to close the gap just before halftime.

The Battle in the Paint

While we began to find opportunities in transition, the Serbians focused on dominating the paint, with Filip Petrusev showcasing his full offensive arsenal against our big men. But the heart of a champion should never be underestimated. Determined to leave Belgrade with a win, our players fought for every loose ball. Léopold Cavalière’s crucial offensive rebounds kept us within striking distance heading into crunch time (52-57).

Keva continued to make an impact on both ends of the court, but our outside shooting let us down. In the final quarter, the locals’ experience made the difference in this 20th EuroLeague game (69-85). Now, it’s time to turn our attention to the Bourg matchup in 48 hours before tackling a demanding week at the adidas arena.
