Après match

Still alive!

In an already decisive away game, Paris Basketball beat Cholet (72-90). The next game at home on Tuesday will decide the series.

Whew! We needed a win and we got it! After the defeat in Game 1 and the end of the 25-game winning streak, the whole team was more than focused on the objective: not to end the season so prematurely. As Tuomas Iisalo had said in the press conference, “we’re going to have to work to play another game defensively and offensively”. These words have been translated into action.

Right from the start, our Parisians showed that they were in the mood for maximum success. A high-flying first quarter, with TJ Shorts quickly up to 12 points, an incandescent Collin Malcolm behind the 3-point line and a renewed defense. In the second quarter, Tyson Ward’s 17-point teammates struggled a little more. Less intensity, more missed shots, but above all, Cholet woke up with the support of their fans to finish just 3 points behind Paris at half-time, after trailing by 13 at the end of the 1st.

The game folded in the 3rd quarter

Paris decided to step on the gas pedal and take the lead, just as they had done in the championship match at La Meilleraie. At times, you’d have thought the hoop was a little bigger, so incredible was the success. Paris ended the game with 17 successful 3-point shots!

Collin Malcolm’s performance was particularly noteworthy, with 5/7 shooting including 4 3-pointers.

The end of the game was one-way traffic, with Paris on top and securing their win to snatch a Game 3 at home. It’s anecdotal, but it’s the first playoff win in the club’s history.

See you at the adidas arena on Tuesday for your chance to qualify for the Betclic ELITE semi-finals!
