Happy birthday Anders and Eiko !

Both born on 5 May, our assistant coaches Anders Sommer and Eiko Potthast are celebrating their 42nd and 35th birthdays respectively.

They know what it takes to win! As members of head coach Julius Thomas’s coaching staff, Anders Sommer and Eiko Potthast contribute every day to the development of Paris Basketball.

Anders Sommer arrived in the capital from Denmark, bringing with him a wealth of achievements. A multiple national champion, the Hareskovby native also helped the Bakken Bears shine on the European stage. From the Basketball Champions League to the EuroCup and the European North Basketball League, our assistant coach demonstrated his deep understanding of the game before arriving in Paris.

Arriving later in the season at the end of March 2026, Eiko Potthast, meanwhile, has excelled on the other side of the Rhine. Having worked with Telekom Baskets Bonn alongside Julius Thomas and Tuomas Iisalo, the German coach has over 10 seasons’ experience as part of a coaching staff. His greatest achievement? Leading SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt from regional level to the second national division in under six years !
