Horizons switches to summer time

This immersion in the heart of the adidas Arena paved the way for a new phase. While our goal of combining sport and culture remains the same, this time we’re going further with a three-part progression.

This immersion in the heart of the adidas Arena paved the way for a new phase. While our goal of combining sport and culture remains the same, this time we’re going further with a three-part progression.

Create… The children first let their imaginations run wild during a customization workshop. Guided by Trajectoire Studio and artist Bilel Allem, our young participants transformed basketballs into unique objects. Exploring different techniques, experimenting, starting over, and sticking to their choices—a long process culminating in the creation of 12 basketballs, each one more different than the last.

Play… A few weeks later, it was back to the court in a more free-form and interactive format. Alongside our player-ambassador Justin Robinson, they took on creative dribbling challenges, shooting contests, and even reinvented some game rules. This approach aims to break free from the traditional framework to encourage initiative and spontaneity. A separate session followed by an open and unfiltered discussion to make our leader’s journey tangible and relatable.

Exhibiting… Finally, these first two stages culminated in showcasing this process. For nearly a week, the 12 basketballs adorned the corridors of the adidas Arena.

Create – Play – Exhibit… This winning formula perfectly aligns with the Horizons program’s philosophy: building coherent pathways where each stage builds upon the previous one. It’s a way to provide meaning, continuity, and above all, to leave a lasting mark on the young participants’ experience.
