Paris Basketball to join the EuroLeague

On Monday June 17, the EuroLeague officially confirmed Paris Basketball’s commitment to the competition for next season. Winners of the EuroCup last April for the first European title in its history, the club from the capital will enter a new
era in October.

Through this press release, the Club is proud to announce its participation in the EuroLeague from next season. An agreement has been reached between the European governing body and the club’s directors. This is another milestone in the young and spectacular history of Paris Basketball.

At the Adidas Arena, Paris Basketball will compete against the continent’s most iconic teams, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and this year’s champion, Panathinaïkos.

Joining AS Monaco and ASVEL, Paris becomes the third French representative to take part in the most prestigious European basketball competition.

This is another major achievement for Paris Basketball and its principal owner Eric Schwartz and CEO and co-owner David Kahn, who announced this ambitious goal from the founding of the club in 2018.

“Eric and I would like to recognize our fans, supporters and partners as the driving force behind our decision to play in the EuroLeague next season, said David Kahn. We try every day to make decisions through the eyes of our Paris Basketball community – and we know they have been dreaming of the EuroLeague since we first started this adventure. We also know the EuroLeague has been thinking for many years of the Paris market as part of its long-term strategic plan. Paris is the epicenter of European basketball and thus deserves a EuroLeague club.”

Now the Club now wants to engage and encourage Parisians to join us in this adventure by purchasing a season ticket, which in itself is the best way to support the club’s ambition. In return, we promise the best indoor entertainment experience in Greater Paris.

« We have enjoyed an extraordinary year, said Eric Schwartz. We had a French basketball record 25 straight victories, we won the Leaders Cup, we won the EuroCup, we reached the Finals against AS Monaco after defeating ASVEL in a thrilling semifinal series…and we opened the fabulous new Adidas Arena. ».

The Club de la capitale is now ready to embark on this new challenge, which will enable Paris to shine on the European stage.
