Our youth team pull off a stunning victory in Cholet
Wow, what a performance! Paris Basketball’s Espoirs side have pulled off one of the greatest feats in their history by beating Cholet away on Tuesday in the 10th round of the league (89-82).
It’s hard to imagine a better start to the week ! Despite the defeat suffered at Roanne last Sunday, our young Parisians have been going from strength to strength of late. On the cusp of the Top 7 in the Espoirs ÉLITE, Paris Basketball faced a tricky away fixture to kick off the week.
At home, joint-leaders Cholet have proved unbeatable since the start of the season. And this match seems to be no exception to the rule. Despite a good start to the game, our Under-21s quickly found themselves trailing in the first quarter (15–23). Unfortunately, it looked as though the game was all but over, as the home side were so adept at capitalising on every slight advantage they gained. Except that our Parisian lads had other ideas.

By the second quarter, they were back in the lead. Their excellent shot selection from beyond the arc yielded some crucial three-pointers. Meanwhile, Samuel put in a massive performance under the basket, as evidenced by his eight rebounds. Noam Delag also stole the show. Between them, they scored nearly 42 points!
Having closed the gap to just one possession at the start of the second half (39–42), Paris Basketball took the lead with a free-throw midway through the third quarter, establishing a narrow advantage (69–64). Cholet, however, weren’t done yet! The home side pushed hard to regain control of the game. Noam Delag – him again – responded immediately with a clinical jump shot. From that moment on, Paris never relinquished the lead to their opponents (89–82).
Provisionally back in the Top 7, our Parisians will be back in action this Saturday at 6 pm against a Chalon side that has recently been out of form.
