Hero of the Game : The Solidarity Crew in the spotlight

The end of October was marked by the fight against student financial insecurity last Sunday, when L’Équipage Solidaire took to the pitch as the ‘Hero of the Game’.

Behind every student lies a personal journey, but also ambitions that are, sadly, sometimes held back by the difficulties of everyday life. Since its creation in 2020, L’Équipage Solidaire has been working to ensure that no young person is forced to choose between putting food on the table, buying clothes, finding somewhere to live or pursuing their studies with peace of mind.

By students, for students! It is on this conviction that the organisation has built its commitment. Now active in 15 towns and cities across France, it mobilises a community of volunteers and partners to provide practical solutions to young people’s basic needs.

Among its key initiatives, Delivraide tackles food insecurity through the distribution of food, whilst Dressed facilitates access to clothing. Through the Euro Solidaire, L’Équipage Solidaire also works to reduce inequalities in access to IT equipment.

As well as bringing people together on the court, basketball also helps to shine a light on those who make a difference off the court. Through its ‘Hero of the Game’ programme, the Paris Basketball Foundation aims to provide a platform for these everyday heroes and help raise awareness of their commitment amongst as many people as possible.
