A look back at our Women’s team’s incredible regular season

As the Paris Basketball Women’s Team prepares for the National 2 Final Four this weekend, let’s look back at this incredible regular season culminating in promotion!

The first half of our season was all about travel. Of their first 11 games, our Women played nearly 8… away! A challenging situation on paper, but one that Paris Basketball turned into a string of victories. Aside from a win in Orly that was later overturned into an administrative loss, followed by a disappointing performance in Le Chesnay, our players immediately lived up to their status as favorites.

Led by players like Ines Salahy and Paloma Wouts, they achieved a remarkable run of 5 consecutive wins in just over a month. They faced direct rivals for promotion, such as Estaires and Flammes Carolo. Only Bourges managed to stop them in early December. It was hard to imagine at that moment that it would be our last defeat of the regular season!

At the dawn of the second half of the 2025-2026 season, our Parisian team narrowly missed out on a podium finish. With only one promotion spot available to Nationale 1, Paris had virtually no room for error. This was perfect timing, as our players started the year with a bang! First, they won two hard-fought Parisian derbies at the Adidas Arena, then they steamrolled their opponents. From their 104 points against SIG Strasbourg to the mere 23 points conceded against Templeuve, Paris Basketball dominated the competition.

However, the other contenders were keeping pace. While Bourges couldn’t be promoted due to their status as a training center, Estaires continued their impressive run. With three games remaining, Paris hosted them. To overtake the Northerners, the equation was simple: win! This match was all the more important as our legend, Touty Gandega, was playing his final game. And in the end, it was a one-sided affair! Our women’s team cruised past Estaires (83-36) before officially securing their promotion the following week.

The season ended in spectacular fashion with impressive victories in front of our home crowd against Bourges (69-63) and CTC Alliance Sport Alsace (78-59).

Now, Paris Basketball is determined to extend its unbeaten streak into 2026 this weekend in Margny-lès-Compiègne (Marcel Guérin arena) during the Final Four. Two games to reach the top of Nationale 2.
