Paris falls to Dubai
Our strong start to the third quarter wasn’t enough… Paris Basketball suffered a 79-99 defeat against Dubai on the 24th day of the EuroLeague at the adidas arena.
Our Parisian team faced an unprecedented challenge on Thursday evening. However, their strong runs were no match for the Emirati team’s consistency.
From the very first plays, the two teams plunged into a trench war. It was impossible to shoot without a hand getting in the way, and elbows were constantly flying on rebounds. Dubai certainly took the lead, but Paris did not give up, as evidenced by Enzo Shahrvin‘s two blocks in less than three minutes. But after a good first quarter in terms of three-pointers (3/6), our Parisians lost their accuracy while the visitors continued to rack up assists (14 in the first half). However, Jared Rhoden, with five steals in 13 minutes, increased the number of drives and penetrations to stay in the game (32-52).

At home, Paris Basketball did not let themselves be discouraged. On the contrary, their Parisian aggression combined with big shots from the parking lot allowed our players to make a complete comeback. While Dubai maintained their cruising speed, Yak caused a tsunami in the adidas arena, which was rocked by total madness. With a few minutes to go in the fourth quarter, our team reduced the gap (53-65). And despite another good start to the quarter (63-76), our Parisians were unable to make up the deficit accumulated during the first half of the game (79-99).
Facing opponents who are still undefeated in the Adriatic League, our Parisians’ bursts of energy were not enough to melt away Dubai’s lead. Now, Paris has its eyes set on its next game against Le Portel at the end of the week.
