Splitter: “The team spirit is exceptional”

After securing a ninth consecutive win against Maccabi (93-81), Coach Tiago Splitter reflected on this unique game and the upcoming challenge on Friday in Athens.

When we arrived here, I told the guys it would definitely be a special game without fans. So, we needed to bring energy, and that’s exactly what they managed to do. They played well, they were aggressive, which is a very good thing. They did an outstanding job on offensive rebounds throughout the game, and that was a key factor.

The team spirit is exceptional. Winning always makes things easier, that’s true, but even during the preseason, there was already great chemistry among the players. We try to play fast, share the ball, and most importantly, make sure everyone has a role. It might sound simple, but it’s the truth. Everyone is on the same level—there are no egos in this team. Everyone plays hard and respects the game plan.

We all know Olympiakos is a very talented team. Together with my assistants, we are preparing for this game thoroughly. We take each game one at a time, and we’ll see how to handle this challenge when the time comes.
