Biography of Sebastian Herrera
Born on 1 November 1997 in Vitacura, Chile, Sebastian Herrera excels in three sports: tennis, football and basketball. But it was on the basketball court that young Seba quickly made his mark.
In 2014, young Seba was scouted during the Mannheim tournament. Impressed by the forward’s ease, the assistant coach of the Gladiators Trier wasted no time in signing him as a professional at only 17 years old. It was a huge leap forward. Within a few weeks, Sebastian Herrera went from playing for the U19s at CD Universidad Católica to playing every weekend in the German first division.
Two seasons and 63 promising appearances later, Tuomas Iisalo, then coach of Crailsheim, saw his potential. In Germany, our former coach even made him captain.
A few years later, the two men reunited in Bonn in a project designed for success. With Tuomas, TJ, Tyson and Kratzer in particular, Seba won the BCL and became the first Chilean player to lift a European trophy.
This title subsequently opened the doors to Paris Basketball for him. After winning the Leaders Cup, the EuroCup, the French Cup and the French championship, Herrera’s thirst for titles has not yet been quenched. An undisputed and unquestionable leader, our number 7 always wants more.
What role will Sebastian Herrera play for Paris Basketball in the 2025-2026 season
His primary strength is obviously his shooting, as evidenced by his 40% three-point shooting percentage in his first regular season in Betclic Elite. But to sum him up based on this single aspect of his game would be somewhat unfair.
Seba is also a guard who can carry the ball almost like a point guard. He can create opportunities for others or, if necessary, finish in the paint. All this without mentioning his tough defence and leadership, which are so valuable to a new team like Paris Basketball.
