Euroleague Power Ranking 2025-26 : the 20 teams
The 2025-2026 EuroLeague season is already shaping up to be one of the most competitive in history. With stars on every side, European basketball is shining brighter than ever before. Almost all of the 20 clubs can legitimately claim a place in the Top 10.
However, today we rank these teams according to three specific criteria: form, squad strength and stability. A power ranking is the perfect guide for this new season.
Will Paris Basketball finish in the play-ins ? Will Olympiacos retain its throne ? Will Real Madrid return to its former glory ? The answers are here !
20) Baskonia : Chronic instability is Baskonia’s downfall in this power ranking. The glimmers of hope seen last year have not materialised with the arrival of Paolo Galbiati. For his EuroLeague debut, the Italian coach will be able to rely on a talented and experienced squad featuring Markus Howard, Tadas Sedekerkis and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot… but without any reference points !
19) Valencia : They certainly had the best squad in their recent history before injuries struck. With three players missing from the perimeter, Valencia will start their European season already missing their best players. This team is as full of gems as it is of uncertainties. Especially since their fast-paced style of play could physically backfire on them in the final days.
18) ASVEL : One of the oldest teams in terms of average age, ASVEL will struggle to keep up with the pace of its 38 EuroLeague games. After achieving 13 wins last season for the first time since 2020-21, the departure of Maledon and Robertson weighs heavily on the team. Their salvation will surely depend on Watson’s adaptation to European play.
17) Maccabi Tel Aviv : In an increasingly competitive EuroLeague, the gap closed by Maccabi does not seem as significant as that of its direct competitors. Lonnie Walker is an excellent addition, while much of the Israeli rotation is taking its first steps in the competition. Away from home, it is difficult to place Oded Kattash’s men any higher.
16) Bayern Munich : The Munich team lost a lot during the off-season. From the departure of Carsen Edwards – the EuroLeague’s top scorer in 2025 – to the injuries to Rokas Jokubaitis and Johannes Voigtmann during the Euro, Bayern has to rebuild from scratch. Arriving just a few weeks before the start of the season, these 10 new recruits are still finding their feet. This is a fateful delay at this level.
15) Virtus Bologna : Virtus made some big moves in the summer transfer market. A true blockbuster in Europe, Ivanovic can now rely on Carsen Edwards in attack. Surrounded by young talents, Bologna is only at the beginning of this new project. Several questions remain in defence, and it will take time for the Italians to truly break through the glass ceiling that separates them from the play-offs.
14) Armani Milan : Yet another disappointing campaign in 2025 gives way to yet another hopeful turnover. On paper, everything seems to be in place for Milan to perform, and quickly. The signings of Lorenzo Brown, Marko Guduric, Vlatko Cancar and Devin Booke offer stability. As in the last two seasons, the key will surely be injuries, not to mention the loss of 2021 MVP Nikola Mirotic.
13) Partizan Belgrade : Where have the big men gone ? Why is there only one middle pivot (Tyrique Jones) ? The additions of Shake Milton, Dylan Osetkowski and Jabari Parker certainly bring depth to the Belgrade backcourt. Starting the season with a reduced frontcourt presence and a second-string point guard will cost them dearly in the EuroLeague. The paint is Partizan’s huge Achilles heel.
12) Dubai Basketball : As a EuroLeague rookie, Dubai is aiming to make a splash in the competition. And to do so, Golemac’s team has given itself the means to succeed. Led by Dzanan Musa at the top of the bill, the teammates of our Frenchie Mam Jeiteh are mostly discovering the elite of continental basketball for the first time. The X factor in this edition looks more to the past than to the future. A 12th place finish would already be a good omen for this complete squad.
11) Red Star : There had to be one, and this time the team on the verge of the play-in is Red Star. Finishing 10th last year, the Serbs have fallen behind the competition. So yes, Zvezda may be younger, taller and more athletic than last season. But Sfairopoulos has no fewer than nine new players to integrate into the dressing room. And there is very little time to adapt in the EuroLeague.
10) Paris Basketball : The Parisians are surely the biggest question mark in the EuroLeague. After defying all predictions in 2025, Paris Basketball is back with a vengeance, albeit with a number of changes. Six of the seven top scorers – including TJ Shorts – have left, in addition to Tiago Splitter. Nevertheless, Nadir Hifi’s team impressed in the pre-season, with this well-rounded squad combining carefree energy with experience on both sides of the court.
9) Žalgiris Kaunas : Could this be the surprise of this power ranking? After being pushed out of the top 10 for two consecutive seasons, Kaunas has drawn on the leaders from last season’s regular season to make it back to the play-ins. Straight from Olympiacos, Nigel Williams-Goss and Moses Wright will bring all their experience to both sides of the court. In his first season as head coach, Tomas Masiulis has plenty to work with to take the team to the next level.
8) FC Barcelona : Barcelona’s ability to string together wins without injuries will determine their final position. Reinforced by the Virtus duo of Toko Shengelia and Will Clyburn, as well as Myles Cale, the Catalans have a deeper rotation, despite the departure of Jabari Parker. More athletic but also older, Joan Peñarroya’s team has chosen to build for the play-offs at the expense of the regular season.
7) Hapoel Tel Aviv : The winners of the 2025 EuroCup are keen to continue their meteoric rise in the main competition. Hapoel did not hesitate to write a big cheque to build the deepest squad in the league (19 players), led by two-time MVP Vasilije Micic. Forced to play in Sofia, the absence of their home crowd will certainly hurt them. If everything clicks, it will be difficult to determine Tel Aviv’s ceiling.
6) Fenerbahçe : Logically, the reigning champions should be at the top of this ranking and not on the verge of qualifying for the play-offs. Without Nigel Hayes-Davis and Marko Guduric, Fenerbahçe in 2026 is no longer the same team as in 2025. Still among the favourites, the additions of talented players such as Armando Bacot, Brandon Boston Jr. and, of course, Talen Horton-Tucker bring as much uncertainty as they do potential.
5) Anadolu Efes : Weiler-Babb, Loyd, Cordinier, Swider, Papagiannis, Kai Jones. Anadolu has undoubtedly had the biggest off-season in Europe. In addition to recruiting some major talent, Anadolu has built a cohesive squad. All this is complemented by the experienced Larkin-Beaubois duo. The Turks have all the ingredients to lift the top prize. Now we’ll see how Igor Kokoskov synchronises the team.
4) Real Madrid : Coming off a disappointing season, Real Madrid is entering a new era under Scariolo. With the giant Tavares and serial shooter Henzoja at the helm, the Merengues have strengthened their squad this summer. With Théo Maledon leading the way, the Casa Blanca has a team with enough depth to keep up with the pace set by the schedule.
3) AS Monaco : You don’t change a winning team in Monaco, with a few adjustments. To finally take that step forward, the EuroLeague finalists will now be relying on 2022 MVP Nikola Mirotic. At the Rock, there is no choice: they must win! These are goals that match the calibre of this star-studded squad on paper. Now we’ll have to see if the chemistry works. No one doubts, however, that it will be enough for a top-three finish.
2) Olympiacos : The big winner of last season’s regular season, the ‘curse of the summit’ has struck again. Knocked out in the semi-finals, Piraeus is banking on continuity to regain its throne. Literally carried by its Vezenkov-Fournier duo, Olympiacos is still as fearsome as ever. Only the point guard position raises a few questions, with Keenan Evans still absent and Ntilikina having joined the team late.
1) Panathinaikos : Already boasting an XXL roster, Pana took advantage of the off-season to sign Betclic ELITE double MVP TJ Shorts. Together with Kendrick Nunn, the Greeks now have two of the three best players from last season in their ranks. With an equally impressive frontcourt, this team has everything it needs on paper to finish the regular season at the top of the table.
