Our hopes team loses in Dijon
Tied at halftime, the Paris Basketball U21 team ultimately fell 77-94 last Saturday in Dijon during the 22nd round of the championship.
Yet, it was our young Parisians who dominated the first six minutes of the game. The end of the first quarter, however, was less successful, and JDA took advantage to build a small lead (23-28). Paris quickly erased this deficit. Even better, a mid-range jumper from our center, Sheyne Koudou, put us ahead! With 30 seconds left in the half, our U21s had built up a lead of nearly two possessions before Dijon tied the game after a strong stretch (44-44).
Having been known for their long runs since the start of the game, the home team caught fire after halftime. A shooting slump proved fatal for our Parisians. They halted Dijon’s momentum but were unable to close the gap, despite the 36 points scored by the Rouamba-Aleksic duo. Paris Basketball ultimately suffered a 77-94 defeat.
The Parisian derby awaits our Espoirs (U21 team) this Saturday. Facing Nanterre, who are just behind them in the standings, Paris Basketball must win or risk losing their 7th place, which guarantees them a spot in the Trophée du Futur (Future Trophy).
