Paris too strong at home
Four wins in a row for Paris Basketball! Led by Marko Aleksic, who had a great night, our Espoirs extended their unbeaten streak against Nancy last Saturday in the 17th game of the regular season (89-71).
No one has managed to beat Paris on their home turf since the start of the year! Already on a roll, Paris Basketball’s Espoirs confirmed their status as contenders for the Trophée du Futur against a Nancy side that was unable to find a solution for 35 minutes.
The visitors held their own against our players during the opening period. But, like our first team, Julien Mahé’s squad stepped up the pace in the second half of the first quarter (21-15). Shaken by this sudden run, a subdued Nancy became spectators as the Parisians played their basketball in the second quarter (47-34). This lead taken by our Espoirs quickly proved to be decisive.
During the third quarter, SLUC closed the gap on the scoreboard. Two possessions separated the two teams at the start of the fourth quarter (60-56). Barely back in the game, our young Parisians immediately ended the suspense! By blocking all second chances on rebounds (19 more in total), the teammates of Marko Aleksic, who scored 26 points and had a rating of 30, completely shut down the opposition. On the other side of the court, the latter piled up the points. Without really faltering, Paris came away with the victory (89-71).
Still well positioned in the race for the Trophée du Futur, the Paris Basketball Espoirs team will have the opportunity to secure a fifth consecutive victory against Saint-Quentin in two weeks’ time.
