Athletica welcomes Paris Basketball’s training centre

Marie-Christine Cavecchi, President of the Val d’Oise Department, and David Kahn, President of Paris Basketball, have announced a unique partnership between the training centre of the French champion club and the Val d’Oise departmental sports facility, Athletica.

The Val d’Oise Department Training Centre – Athletica – will host the young hopefuls (U18/U21) from the Paris Basketball training centre for at least two seasons. Since August 2025, the 14 young residents have been using Athletica’s facilities, particularly its Luc Abalo complex (north and south halls), for their physical preparation and training. They are also provided with accommodation and high-quality meals at Athletica throughout the week.

At the same time, these young people continue their studies with adapted timetables at schools (secondary and sixth form colleges) located near the facility.

By joining forces, the Val d’Oise Department and Paris Basketball are demonstrating their shared commitment to setting the standard in training and sporting excellence by offering these talented young people a unique environment in which to reach their full potential in terms of sport, education and personal development.

” Athletica aims to become a benchmark for high-level training for the champions of tomorrow. We are proud to welcome the training centre of an iconic club such as Paris Basketball to Athletica today. Our facilities, which were rebuilt and modernised last year, offer the best possible conditions for these young people to flourish mentally and physically and thus become recognised professionals on the national and international scene in the coming years ” emphasises Marie-Christine Cavecchi, President of the Val d’Oise Department.

” The establishment of Paris Basketball at the Athletica centre and the signing of a partnership agreement with the Val d’Oise department fulfils the club’s promise to structure its academy in order to offer players at our training centre the best conditions for practising their sport, as well as the best academic and educational environment. This partnership will also enable Paris Basketball to welcome young players from Val d’Oise to the adidas arena and boost the French champions’ presence in Greater Paris ,” said David Kahn, President of Paris Basketball.

Finally, around fifteen French U18 and U21 Championship matches will be held at Athletica each season. Paris Basketball will implement educational initiatives, in particular the OneTeam programme with the EuroLeague, which works to reduce inequality. The club will also organise sports camps to enhance the training opportunities available during school holidays at Athletica.
