Game Changer: Paris commits to young people
Specific workshops, testimonials, activities, themed matches, conferences… As part of its Game Changer programme, the Paris Basketball Foundation has dedicated its first cycle of work to mental health among young people.
Our goal is to help the adults of tomorrow build their future! Launched in 2024, Game Changer is a programme designed to support and equip young people to deal with stress, pressure and mental wellbeing. This initiative has been put into practice at the start of the season through a number of actions carried out by the Paris Basketball Foundation.
Within the club, our Espoirs (U18 and U21) teams had the opportunity to participate in four mental coaching workshops led by Zohra Feghoul, a professional trainer. Continuing with this goal of raising awareness among young people in the Paris region, our endowment fund also co-organised a conference with ESSEC Business School for students.
As the highlight of this first cycle, Paris Basketball made mental health the theme of its match against Baskonia on 15 October. In the concourse, the Screenpeace and ChezPhiphi associations organised activities around this theme. Then, at half-time, our club gave the floor to New Little Giant, a basketball influencer who is particularly concerned with this issue. It was a testimony full of resilience, given in front of a packed adidas arena.
This superb event also laid the foundations for the next cycle with the signing of the Charter against online harassment in partnership with the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile). From now on, the Paris Basketball Foundation wishes to focus on screen use and its impact on young people’s mental health.
We are still only at the beginning of Game Changer.
Paris Basketball believes in the power of sport as a tool to support young people in their personal and professional development.
So you too can contribute to this magnificent project by supporting us.
