Paris fought hard against Barça
Led by a red-hot Justin Robinson, Paris Basketball lost by a whisker on Saturday against Barcelona (90-91). This bodes well for the rest of the summer preparations, which will take us to the Super Cup on the weekend of 20-21 September.
‘I’m proud of my team,’ said our captain Sebastian Herrera ahead of this clash, which lived up to all expectations. After their first friendly win against Orléans (73-82), Paris Basketball played their second pre-season game in Andorra. And what a game it was!
At noon on Saturday, the Parisians faced Barcelona in a match worthy of the most exciting EuroLeague evenings. The Catalans quickly took the lead on the scoreboard. But that was without counting on the unique character of our players. Paris Basketball never let up throughout the match.
This mentality paid off handsomely, as Francesco Tabellini’s men led by four points with 45 seconds remaining. A three-pointer from the parking lot followed by two free throws for Barcelona ultimately proved too much for the reigning French champions.
Yes, Justin Robinson’s teammates, who scored 20 points, lost by the smallest of margins. But such a performance from a team still under construction bodes well for the future. And that future starts today at 7pm against MoraBanc Andorra in their final match in Andorra. The match will be broadcast live on the club’s TikTok channel.
Paris Basketball has already made its intentions clear: they will be aiming to do even better than last season. So if you want to relive such thrilling encounters at the adidas arena, click on this link !
