Biography of Jared Rhoden
Born on August 27, 1999, in Baldwin, New York, Matthew Jared Rhoden excelled in high school. Playing above his grade level, the shooting guard averaged 29.3 points and 7 rebounds per game against opponents older than him. These extraordinary performances for his age earned him a spot on the All-USA Today New York First Team.
Courted by a number of NCAA teams, Jared Rhoden finally settled on the Seton Hall Pirates. Season after season, his performance improved. And in his final college campaign, he averaged 15.5 points and 6.7 rebounds, accompanied by devastating flashes of brilliance. A few months before the 2022 NBA Draft, the shooting guard was even named to the prestigious First Team All-Big East.
However, his professional career began with an unexpected event. Quickly released by the Portland Trail Blazers, Jared Rhoden ended up playing in the G-League. Dominant in the colors of the College Park Skyhawks, the New Yorker caught the eye of the Detroit Pistons in early 2023. There, he took his first steps in the NBA while continuing to average 18.6 points and 6.9 rebounds with the Motor City Cruise.
After a convincing 2023 Summer League, Jared Rhoden continued his career in Michigan. His statistics improved and caught the eye of the Charlotte Hornets. But it was ultimately with the Toronto Raptors that the American shone during the second half of the 2024-2025 season. It was an intense period during which he averaged 11.4 points.
