Paris will play Match 3

In a nail-biting finish, Paris Basketball lost Game 2 of the quarter-finals to Strasbourg (82–87).

For the third consecutive time, Justin opened the scoring in this clash with a three-pointer. For the Parisians, the offensive burden was shared, with the home side initially relying on Marcus Keene’s prowess. However, following a flurry of coast-to-coast runs, Strasbourg regained control of the game. Thanks to a mix of drives and free throws, our players remained in contention, although the shots were falling less frequently as the first quarter drew to a close (18-25). Led by an ever-present Allan at both ends of the court, Paris Basketball forced the opposition’s first time-out just a few plays into the second quarter. A flurry of long-range shots, however, put the Alsatians back on track. Three possessions ultimately separated the two teams as they headed into the changing rooms (40-49).

Just like in the first match, Paris Basketball returned to the court with a completely different mindset! Our Parisians quickly closed the gap. But Mike Davis kept racking up three-pointers. It was, however, a superb alley-oop that saw the third quarter end in a draw (63-63). The pressure was mounting on the red defence! With their backs against the wall, the Alsatians found a second wind just before crunch time. Neck and neck, both teams threw their last reserves of energy into the battle. Despite big shots from Jared and Justin, Marcus Keene stepped up at the worst possible moment (82-87).

Paris failed to seal the game at the right moment. Regrets that our players will surely want to turn into a victory this Saturday in front of their home crowd in the final game of this series.

Paris Basketball also sends its full support to our Captain Seba, who had to leave the court due to injury midway through the first quarter.
