Willis : “We want to win the French championship”

Having arrived this summer from Anadolu Efes, Derek Willis opened up about his adaptation to Paris Basketball while outlining his goals for the end of the season.

As formidable a shooter as he is a rebounder, our center has found his place in this unique Parisian style of play. He’s enjoying his new environment: “I feel good. I love the city, I love the team, all my teammates, and the coaching staff. I’m really happy and grateful to be here. We’ve had our ups and downs, but overall I think it’s been a satisfying season.”

Derek also took the opportunity to discuss the final stretch ahead: “I think now we need to finish the Euroleague season strong. Try to win every game, of course, and then prepare ourselves as best we can for the French league playoffs. So yes, we always want to win everything. But it’s mainly about working every day to try and get the best out of ourselves.”

For him, the objectives are clear: “We want to win the French championship and, above all, play excellent team basketball. And from a more personal perspective, I want to finish the season healthy and in the best possible way.”

Finally, our Parisian player wanted to thank our fans for their dedication: “We really appreciate your support at every game. Keep coming! When all the fans cheer us on and support us during the games, it really gives us energy.”
