Paris at the end of the suspense!

This Sunday evening, Beaublanc was the scene of a clash of rare intensity for the 21st round of the regular season. And at the end of the game, Paris Basketball escaped the Limoges trap (86-80)!

In the electrifying atmosphere of Beaublanc, our Parisians dictated the pace from the outset! Our backcourt duo of Seba and Jared brought a mix of long-range shots and power that left CSP helpless. And when Limoges started to close the gap, Justin added fuel to the fire with lightning-fast fast breaks. Paris didn’t hesitate! As soon as they recovered the ball, they went on the offensive! Thanks to Derek, who was able to punish the basket from the outside before dominating the rim, our players created another gap. It was difficult for the home team to implement their usual systems when their point guard, Frank Mason, was literally stifled by the capital’s defense. A solid first quarter capped off by two incredible three-pointers from Justin (30-23). This back-and-forth in the score continued for Limoges in the second half. The difference this time was that Dario Gjergja’s men clearly adapted, focusing on their defensive transition. This inevitably troubled Paris Basketball. While they weren’t running the floor as much, they still managed to find weaknesses in the paint. Admittedly, our opponents were finding their range from long distance. But spurred on by the superb connection between Allan and Léo, Amath’s teammates, who were outstanding at the end of the second quarter, maintained their lead (49-44).

This desire to recapture the intensity of the first quarter was immediately apparent in Paris. Much to the dismay of CSP, whose defensive lapses resurfaced. In just four minutes, the home team gifted their opponents no fewer than three free throws, which Jared and Allan duly converted into points. Once this flurry of errors subsided, Limoges—as always—got back into the game. No quarters were given! Very few points were scored from open play, but a plethora of free throws reflected the physical nature of the match. The third quarter ended in a 66-66 tie. With the score tied, the two teams engaged in a relentless three-point battle. In this contest, our warrior Jared exploded onto the scene with two absolutely insane shots. The defenses were so tight that no one could even penetrate the paint. But our Captain Seba stepped up to help his team maintain their lead as the game entered crunch time (78-75). In this electric and suffocating atmosphere, neither team managed to pull away. With only 40 seconds left to play, Justin gave us a huge boost (84-80). It was one too many for Limoges, who missed their chance (86-80).

Right up to the final whistle, our Parisians gave it their all… and it paid off! A third consecutive victory for Paris Basketball in arenas louder than ever.
