Eiko Potthast, new assistant coach
Eiko Potthast has officially joined the Paris Basketball staff as an assistant coach. He arrives from SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt, bringing with him significant experience in German basketball.
The new right-hand man to Julius Thomas, Eiko Potthast will lead his first game with Paris Basketball in a few hours against Virtus Bologna. This is a major addition aimed at ensuring the best possible conditions for the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Like Julius Thomas and Tuomas Iisalo, Eiko Potthast came through the ranks at Telekom Baskets Bonn. A native of the region, the German coach began his coaching career there. For six years, he coached youth teams, both women’s and men’s. His time in eastern Germany culminated in a position as a video analyst for the professional team between 2014 and 2016.
His first steps as an assistant coach were with Niners Chemnitz in the German second division. After two seasons alongside Rodrigo Pastore, Eiko Potthast joined SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt, where he served as both assistant coach and youth team coach. Promoted to head coach in May 2019, he led the club from the regional level to the second division in less than six years. An exceptional achievement !

Now, Eiko Potthast will bring his extensive basketball expertise to Paris Basketball.
Welcome to the club, Eiko !
