A complete triumph
Promotion has never been closer ! In the heart of a roaring crowd, the Paris Basketball women’s team completely overwhelmed their direct rivals from Estaires during the 19th round of the Nationale 2 league (83-36).
This victory will be a landmark in the history of our women’s team. With the season drawing to a close, Paris had a lot riding on this match against Estaires last Saturday. A defeat would have significantly distanced us from promotion to Nationale 1. The stakes were incredibly high for our captain Touty Gandega’s final game.
To give us every chance of success, our fans turned out in force at the Victor Young Perez Gymnasium. This extra energy was fully absorbed by our players. From the opening whistle, a rampant Paris Basketball team completely suffocated the visitors, who were caught off guard. Known for their ironclad defense, Eloïse Amilien’s teammates quickly erected an impenetrable wall. Throughout the entire game, our opponents scored an average of less than one point per minute! Defensively, Paris was on another level.
The problem was that offensively, the scoreline was just as lopsided. After racking up defensive stops, our players unleashed their athleticism, leaving everyone in their wake. Three-pointers also contributed to this dominant performance. From the first quarter (23-9) to the final play (83-36), our women were unstoppable. This victory is doubly significant because, in addition to overtaking Estaires, Paris Basketball now sits atop the league standings due to Bourges’ defeat.
The only undefeated Nationale 2 team in this second half of the season, the Paris Basketball Women’s Team holds its destiny in its own hands. Our penultimate game of the 2025-2026 campaign will take place on Saturday, April 11th at 5:00 PM at the adidas Arena. We hope to see you there in force for this clash against Bourges !
