Vamos Paris !

Visca Paris y visca Basketball ! Superior in every aspect of the game, our Parisians gave FC Barcelona no chance in this 23rd round of the EuroLeague (74-85).

Spanish teams are definitely struggling against Paris Basketball! Two weeks after Real Madrid (98-92), Paris Basketball found the right moment to step up the pace against FC Barcelona on Thursday evening.

In line with recent games, Paris wasted no time in pulling away. In less than two minutes, our Captain’Seba sank a shot from the logo, Nadir followed up with a mid-range shot, and our Parisians went on an 11-2 run. But at home, the Catalans quickly caught up (12-11). Until the end of the first period, the two teams were neck and neck. Paris Basketball deployed its effective transition game to perfection, slipping through the slightest Blaugrana gap to finish in the paint. On the other side, Barcelona relied primarily on its physical density inside. Our players emerged victorious from this superb tactical battle at the end of the first quarter (18-21). But Lamar’s teammates, led by an imperial Lamar at the top of the key, were unable to prevent the home side from taking a narrow lead at the end of the half (43-39).

Usually so clinical behind the arc, FC Barcelona racked up the bricks. This created a nice window of opportunity, which our Parisians were quick to seize. Justin and Nadir taught the Catalan defenders a lesson in flamenco before sinking huge shots from the car park. Then, thanks to another big run, Paris took a 3-point lead. An advantage that we maintain throughout the third quarter (55-64). At the same time, it’s hard to blame Barcelona when an expert in the art of catching fire named JMO decides to set the court alight with six points in ten seconds. Shot selection, good decisions, lucidity… everything is going Paris’s way. The three-point show continued into the fourth quarter, with the difference being that our team diversified its offence with big drives from Jared and Lamar.

Unlike FC Barcelona, our players came flying into the red and blue paint. The Catalans had no choice but to rack up fouls. It should be noted that during this time, our Parisians dominated in the air on defensive rebounds. Paris Basketball was never really threatened in the second half (74-85). It was only logical that our Parisians left Spain with a victory in their pocket. This match clearly ranks among the best performances since the start of the season.
