Paris smashes Le Portel !

There was no contest at Le Chaudron on Saturday evening ! Paris Basketball rolled over Le Portel (57-120) in the 17th round of Betclic ÉLITE.

An uneven matchup on paper, this clash of extremes turned sour for the bottom team in the league. From the first to the last second, Paris controlled the game in a match that saw a flurry of records broken.

10-0. The game started with a 10-0 run in favour of our Parisians! A long run symbolising a first quarter dominated from start to finish by Paris Basketball. From distance, the attempts came thick and fast. And when they don’t go in, our big men keep giving our serial shooters second chances (6 offensive rebounds to 0 in the first quarter). Otherwise, Paris pushes the Stellistes into fouls before finishing near the hoop with well-timed drives. In a rare occurrence, Le Portel scored its first point in the second quarter after 8 minutes and 37 seconds, bringing the score to 27-0, inflicted by the teammates of the Seba-Hifi duo, who scored 24 points in the first period.

From +15 at the start of the second quarter (17-35), Paris Basketball began the second half with a 44-point lead (21-65)! The worst part was that our team showed no signs of slowing down. Continuing with their up-tempo approach, our Parisians passed the symbolic 50-point mark (23-75). The difference this time was that our players were making more trips to the free-throw line (21 FT attempts in the second half). Barely into the fourth quarter, our players passed the 100-point mark on yet another and-one by Léopold Cavalière (11 points and 14 rebounds). With nine players scoring 10 points or more, our team remained focused until the final whistle, ending the match 57-120.
