Paris eliminated in the round of 16

Winner of the previous edition, Paris Basketball will not advance further in the Coupe de France after its defeat in Monaco (109-103) in the round of 16.

This duel between the two best teams in France ultimately lived up to all expectations.

The game initially went in Monaco’s favor. Trailing 10-0 after two minutes, our Parisian players relied on 24 points from Amath M’Baye – LNB All-Star – to catch up. While this all-court pressure forced the Roca-Team into mistakes (21 turnovers), Mike James’ 5/5 shooting from behind the arc in the first quarter prevented Paris from closing the gap (33-25).

More consistent from the outside (7/14 from 3-point range in the 2nd quarter), Paris Basketball closed the gap. And despite their leader Nadir Hifi’s second technical foul, our players tied the score with two minutes to go. But it was all in vain… Francesco Tabellini’s men came out with their heads held high after an offensive festival (109-103).

More than three weeks later, Paris Basketball returns to the adidas arena this Sunday at 7 p.m. to face Saint-Quentin. Get your tickets by clicking on this link.
