Paris succumbs to Anadolu Efes
Lacking success in shooting, Paris Basketball lost 80-90 at home to Anadolu Efes on the seventh day of the EuroLeague.
No fourth consecutive victory for Paris Basketball… On Tuesday evening, our Parisians faced Anadolu Efes in a sold-out adidas arena. On one side was the reigning French champion and on the other, the current Super Lig leader. It was all part of EuroLeague Round 7 between two of the continent’s heavyweights.
Like a Final Four match, the defences took control early on, and it wasn’t until the fourth minute that Francesco Tabellini’s men got on the scoreboard before pulling away. Paris dominated physically (17 rebounds in less than 10 minutes), but faced an increasingly tough Anadolu. So much so that in the second quarter, our players did not score a single two-pointer.
However, 4/7 shooting from behind the arc kept our Parisians in the game (39-46). The intensity on both sides did not let up after the break. And despite a few good runs, our players remained behind in the third quarter. Solid until the end, Shane Larkin’s team finished strong and cruised to victory (80-90).
