Paris held out against Fener

Paris fought hard, Paris believed, but Paris ultimately lost 96-77 away to Fenerbahçe in its EuroLeague debut. Frustrating.

Yes, Paris Basketball will be a force to be reckoned with in Europe. Because the score—although harsh on paper—does not fully reflect the high-flying performance put on by our Parisians on Wednesday night against the defending champions. The Ülker Sports Arena in Istanbul shook for long minutes under the power of Hifi‘s teammates, who scored 23 points.

For Francesco Tabellini’s EuroLeague debut, Paris Basketball took on the competition’s overwhelming favorites. Despite struggling to find their range in the first quarter (28% on 2-point shots), our Parisians continued to follow their game plan to the letter.

This combination of intensity, pace, sharp cuts sprinkled with shots out of nowhere allowed them to come back to within one possession at halftime. And driven by Allan Dokossi in Dennis Rodman mode on the rebound (10), our Parisians held their own against Fenerbahçe throughout the third quarter. While the Hall-Tucker-Baldwin trio carried the Turks to victory, the performance of this Paris 2.0 team bodes very well for the future.
