Hifi sets the court alight in his Euro debut

NADIR MADE IT HIFI! At 5pm on Thursday in Poland, Nadir Hifi didn’t falter in his international debut. Our point guard scored 10 points in 8 minutes in Les Bleus’ 64-92 triumph over Ismaël Bako’s Belgium.

Called up at the last minute by Frédéric Fauthoux yesterday afternoon, Nadir Hifi more than justified his place in the French squad. This was particularly true at the start of the fourth quarter. With the French team struggling, our point guard scored a decisive mid-range shot, before repeating the feat from the three-point line.

That’s what you call a more than successful debut. Ten points in eight minutes with a very clean percentage behind the line (66%). We hope to see a repeat performance this Saturday against Luka Doncic’s Slovenia at 5 p.m.

Opposite him was Ismael Bako, another Parisian. Our centre player distinguished himself with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Red Devils. A true leader of this team, our centre player put in a strong performance against France. His next match is against Iceland on Saturday at 2 p.m., with Belgium’s first victory in this Euro in his sights.
