Paris Claims Its Turf Against JL Bourg
Author of a high-intensity performance, Paris Basketball secured Game 1 against JL Bourg and takes the lead in the series. An important win for confidence before going at it again on Friday !
Game one, in the pocket ! After a generally well-controlled game, Paris Basketball earned an important victory over JL Bourg in this first semifinal matchup. The first half was a true boxing match. During the first 10 minutes, both teams exchanged blow for blow. Inside, outside, on the fast break—every approach was used to try and pull ahead, but nothing worked. The same story continued into the second quarter. In these kinds of moments, it’s up to the leaders to step up. TJ Shorts (22 points) and Nadir Hifi (23 points), both excellent throughout the game, took charge and kept their team within reach at halftime (HT: 55–56).
After the break, Paris took the handbrake off. Boosted by three-point shooting from Sebastian Herrera (10 points, 3/5 from deep) and Maodo Lô (13 points, 3/6), the Parisians began to widen the gap. Tiago Splitter’s men also took full advantage of numerous free throws earned to further increase their lead and put the game out of reach. Despite a burst of pride from Bourg in the middle of the final quarter, Paris held on to its lead and delighted the crowd to the end with a TJ-to-Tyson Ward alley-oop, the perfect exclamation point to a flawless night.
Thanks to this win, Paris Basketball now leads the series and heads into Game 2 on Friday in a strong position !
