What Path Awaits Paris in the Playoffs ?

It’s official. Thanks to securing first place, Paris will enter the Betclic ELITE playoffs with home-court advantage throughout the series, but will have to wait to find out who their first opponent will be.

The playoffs : where it all begins. Starting Tuesday, May 27, things get serious for Paris Basketball — but their first opponent remains a mystery. This year, the LNB has adopted a play-in format, inspired by the American and European systems.

Teams ranked between 7th and 10th place will battle it out during the week for the final two spots in the postseason. By finishing first, our Parisians are guaranteed to face the winner of the final play-in game (Play-in C), which will feature the loser of the 7th vs 8th match (Play-in A) against the winner of the 9th vs 10th match (Play-in B). Dijon, Chalon, Nancy, and Saint-Quentin are the four possible opponents.

By the end of the week, once the play-in concludes, Paris will know its fate for the first round. That’s when the journey to the Finals begins. As a reminder, the first round series are played in a best-of-three format — meaning two wins are needed to advance to the semifinals. From that point onward, all series are played in a best-of-five format (three wins needed to advance).

Thanks to their top seed, Tiago Splitter’s squad will have home-court advantage throughout the entire playoffs. That means Paris will always host Game 1 and will have the chance to close out each series at home if it goes the distance (Game 3, then Game 5 if needed).
